First stop today is the Capilano Suspension Bridge and rain forest trails.
The suspension bridge is 443 feet long and 226 feet above the canyon floor, held by a pair of tiny cables. It sways and bounces above the Capilano River.
Ahhhhhhhhhh.....stop rocking the bridge!
The Treetops Adventures section features more bridges and walkways attached to giant tree trunks above the rainforest floor.
I'm feeling a bit dwarfed!
Tom is a swinger!
The ferns are lush and enormous.
Looking up...it's hard to get a good perspective of the size of the trees and height.
Above is the Big One!
The Douglas fir has a rough thick bark.
The cedar tree has a smooth bark.
A favorite rain forest floor critter
Look at the size of this maple leaf.
Fog and mist hanging in the air
Bench carved from one tree
Hydrangea... don't mine look like this?
The branches are covered in moss.
Wow! With the mist and drizzle, it was hard to capture the beauty of this rainforest.
Stop 2...On to Grouse Mountain...we were hoping to do the 2 1/2 hour zip line tour, but the visibility was next to 0% as you will see. We opted for the gondola ride to the top of Grouse Mountain.
There were many carvings along the path. This one is an eagle.
The creature from Fog Mountain.
We had lunch at the lodge restaurant with this beautiful view.
Going down
The parking lot...we could see Barney sitting in the driver's seat.
Stop 3 for the day was Whistler, one of the world's greatest ski resorts. Whistler hosted the 2010 Olympic Games. It has more vertical runs, lifts, and varied ski terrain than any other resort in North America. During the summer, Whistler is the gathering place for mountain bikers with a world class mountain bike park. Whistler Village is a resort community with a huge mall and hotels. It's at the base of two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, arranged around the village lined with shopping and dining. It's an affluent planned community with a Disney like feel. it was interesting to see, but not one of our favorites. I realize that now as I see how few pictures we took. The two hour ride on Route 99, the Sea to Sky Highway, to Whistler was the best part of the trip. It was along Howe Sound with mountains in the water and then a climb through the mountains.
We scored a 10 here!
Perfect 10 here too.

Beautiful! You look like a midget next to those huge trees. Like your favorite movie line: "I'm shrinking!" "Bummer!"
