An Apple a Day or a Glass of Wine?

Monday, September 19 and Tuesday, September 20

It was another beautiful drive today into the lake area of Chelan, Washington.
Apple orchards and vineyards cover the hillsides. Apple orchards were once the main crop, but now grapes have taken over many of the original orchard sites.
Chelan wine is compared to the Napa Valley and Walla Walla wines. Lake Chelan attracts thousands of tourists to it's pristine turquoise waters and lovely downtown shops.

Our home for two nights was the state park situated on Lake Chelan.

How pretty is this?

Unpacking again

Walking around the lake

Water dogs doing what they do best!

Tom sitting on a rock.

Look closely and you can see the duck Millie was chasing.

A babbling brook inside the park woods

Millie contemplating life.

Bob, Tom's stepbrother, came out to visit the campsite.

Isn't this beautiful....a man and his faithful companions.

We joined Bob, Kendra, and Cindy for dinner.

  2. Chelan was an unexpected delight. We had no idea how beautiful the area was and how much there is to do there. I've tried the apples and now I need to try the wine.
